Does the assassination of Yahyeh Sinwar mean the end of Palestinian resistance?

Western leaders from Biden to Trudeau have expressed the hope that the assassination of Yahyeh Sinwar will mean the end of the Palestinian resistance. The historical record doesn’t back that up. Israel’s strategy of “decapitation” of Palestinian resistance movements dates back to its foundation in 1948. While Israel continues to confiscate more and more Palestinian lands and prevent Palestinians from returning, the resistance continues unabated. Read more.

Canadian Jewish News magazine publishes astonishing (and controversial) cover reflecting debate among Canadian Jews

The cover illustration of the fall issue of The Canadian Jewish News Magazine  seems to reflect a growing debate in the Jewish community over Israel/Palestine, long repressed by establishment Jewish organizations, and now bubbling to the surface. Many Israelis and Jews are pondering a new question: how long will Israel survive?

The June 7th editorial in the Israeli daily Ha’aretz raised a shocking warning. “Israel’s collapse could be only a matter of time”, the editors declared. The potential demise of Zionism and the idea of a Jewish State, an idea once held by only a few antizionist radicals, is creeping into mainstream thought. Will Israel survive another decade? Large crowd attends vibrant Palestine Day on Parliament Hill

A somber crowd filled a Parliamentary Hall on Thursday, June 13th for “Palestine Day on the Hill”, organized by the Association of Palestinian Arab Canadians (APAC) in Ottawa under the slogan “From Nakba to Genocide”. Representatives of the NDP, Liberal Party of Canada and Green Party voiced their support for the Palestinian people and called for an end to the genocide. Read more.

Who is shooting at Jewish schools in Canada? A call for a serious investigation rather than race-baiting

Standing on a panel with Prime Minister Trudeau (l) and Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow (r), Ontario Premier Doug Ford implicitly fingered “immigrants” as the culprits in a recent shooting at a Toronto girls school. While he didn’t mention any specific immigrant communities, it was clear he was pointing to Arab/Palestinian/Muslim Canadians. This a police issue that should be treated seriously. Read more…
