Major Israel lobby group begins Canada-wide consultations with Jewish community

Justin Trudeau said that Canada was back…but on Israel/Palestine, we’re mostly seeing more of the same Harper policy. Publicly, Trudeau claims to have a “balanced” position and says he supports a “2 state solution”. But in fact, it seems the Trudeau government almost always sides with Israel. Leading Palestinian legislator shot by Israeli police during demonstration in southern Israel
Ayman Odeh, the soft spoken Palestinian Israeli who is the leader of the “Arab Joint List” in the Israeli Knesset (parliament) was shot by police during a demonstration in Southern Israel. He was hit by at least one rubber coated bullet and perhaps another one which struck his head. Odeh was treated in hospital and later released. Odeh was in Canada last year for meetings with Canadian Parliamentarians. Read more. (more…)
The “Gaza Doctor” launches petition asking Trudeau to support his legal case seeking Israeli apology
Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish, otherwise known as the “Gaza Doctor” (l.), shown here with Prime Minister Trudeau and Health Minister Jane Philpott at a reception in Toronto in 2014. Dr. Abuelaish has prepared a petition asking Trudeau and the Canadian government to support his demand for an acknowledgement and apology from the Israeli government for the loss of his daughters in a bombing attack on their home in Gaza in 2008.
