Dr. Kattenburg’s one man battle with the CBC over its reporting on the Israel/Palestine issue should go public

Dr. David Kattenburg (r) has been waging a protracted battle with CBC for over a year over its poor reporting on the Israel/Palestine issue. His most recent issue has been over the fact that CBC has accepted an argument put forward by Mike Fegelman (l), Executive Director of Honest Reporting Canada (HRC) that Israel has NO RESPONSIBILITY for providing Covid 19 vaccination to the Palestinians which it holds under military occupation. Kattenburg has repeatedly presented CBC with official legal arguments to the contrary, which CBC has stubbornly ignored. CTIP interviewed Dr. Kattenburg about his determined struggle. Does famed Canadian human rights defender Irwin Cotler have a blind spot… or a hidden agenda?

In 2015, Hon. Irwin Cotler (centre) was honoured in Israel by the World Jewish Congress for his human rights work around the Globe. Cotler is also admired by many Canadian politicians for his human rights work in South Africa, Russia, and Myanmar, among other places. For Canadian Friends of Peace Now, a liberal Zionist organization, things are going too far. Check out their webinar on Sunday February 21. Read more…

Canada’s new Foreign Affairs Minister Marc Garneau (l) had to do some fast footwork after the International Criminal Court (ICC) announced it had authorized its chief prosecutor Fatou Bensouda (r) to investigate alleged Israeli war crimes. This posed a dilemma for Minister Garneau. How to claim support for international law, while at the same time protecting Israel? His staff at Global Affairs Canada found him a neat legalistic loophole. But it doesn’t bring any distinction to him, or to Canada. Read more….

“When I argued that Zionism as practiced in Israel amounts to “Jewish supremacy” Bnai Brith Canada falsely accused me of anti-Semitism”: York University professor

After participating in a debate sponsored by Ryerson University on how to oppose anti-Semitism, law professor Faisal Bhabha (top left) was the object of an aggressive campaign by Bnai Brith Canada falsely accusing him of anti-Semitism. Bnai Brith used the controversial IHRA definition of anti-Semitism to try to get him fired. As he explained in a recent article, it didn’t work. Bhabha got support from human rights activists, his faculty association and from other faculty members. He is not backing down. Read more.
