Mahmood Abbas, President of the Palestinian Authority has just completed a four day state visit to China. “We are good friends and partners,” Chinese President Xi told Abbas. Recently the House of Commons Committee on Foreign Relations decided to undertake a review of Canada’s policy toward the Israel/Palestine question. Canada has made the idea of a “two state solution” a cornerstone of its policy. At the invitation of the Canadian International Council, Jon Allen former Canadian ambassador to Israel and Peter Larson, Chair of the Ottawa Forum on Israel Palestine expressed opposite views on whether a “two state solution” is still possible.
