CIJA, B’nai Brith and some other pro-Israel organizations have called CUPE Ontario president Fred Hahn antisemitic because he re-posted a satirical cartoon critical of Israel. Ontario Premier Doug Ford is even pressuring CUPE’s National Executive Board to dump him. But Hahn is fighting back and gaining support among CUPE members. Watch the video and see what you think. In a letter sent August 13th to Prime Minister Trudeau, Reverend Michael Blair, General Secretary of the United Church of Canada calls on Trudeau to “to suspend relations with the State of Israel until it has complied with the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ)“. In a historic ruling, the International Court of Justice declared the 53 year long Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory including West Bank, Gaza and Jerusalem, ILLEGAL. It makes unambiguous specific demands on Israel. It also demands that other countries, like Canada which are members of the court, move immediately to enforce Israeli compliance with the court’s findings. Read more…..
