International Court of Justice delivers landmark ruling on illegality of Israeli occupation. How will Canada respond?

In a historic ruling, the International Court of Justice declared the 53 year long Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory including West Bank, Gaza and Jerusalem, ILLEGAL. It makes unambiguous specific demands on Israel. Over 630,000 people join worldwide call to ban Israel from Olympics as long as it continues to massacre civilians in Gaza

The international social media lobbying site AVAAZ has launched a campaign to ban Israeli athletes from participating in the Olympic Games in Paris which begin next Friday, July 26th. The petition calls for a ban as long as Israel keeps up its murderous bombing campaign in Gaza. Already over 630,000 people have signed. Avaaz hopes for a million. Read more.

Large crowd attends vibrant Palestine Day on Parliament Hill

A somber crowd filled a Parliamentary Hall on Thursday, June 13th for “Palestine Day on the Hill”, organized by the Association of Palestinian Arab Canadians (APAC) in Ottawa under the slogan “From Nakba to Genocide”. Representatives of the NDP, Liberal Party of Canada and Green Party voiced their support for the Palestinian people and called for an end to the genocide. Read more.

In April 2024, mass graves were discovered in the Gaza Strip near in two large hospitals, which had been raided by the Israeli Defense Forces. Some bodies were missing limbs and others were bound with handcuffs. The UN has called for an inquiry. Will the City of Ottawa fly Israel’s flag on May 14th while it continues to commit genocide in Gaza?

Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe has announced that the City of Ottawa will raise the Israeli flag on May 14th to celebrate the creation of the State of Israel. It has done so since 2007. However, many people find this an insensitive and hurtful decision this year as Israel continues its murderous bombardment of Gaza. Read more....
