B’nai Brith suffers embarassing defeat in Winnipeg over Linda Sarsour event

B’nai Brith Canada lobbyists convinced Winnipeg Mayor Brian Bowman to argue that American activist Linda Sarsour should not be allowed to speak at an event organized by the city’s Social Planning Council. B’nai Brith claimed she is anti-Semitic. But the Council stood its ground, Sarsour did not make anti-Semitic remarks, and the event was a huge success. Challenge to Israeli product labelling will be heard in Federal court in Toronto on May 21, 22

A legal case contesting the Liquor Control Board of Ontario’s right to market wine produced in illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank as a “Product of Israel” was launched in 2017 by Winnipeg native David Kattenburg. CBC’s Michael Enright (l) interviewed US professor Deborah Lipstadt (r) on March 30th about the rise of anti-Semitism and how to combat it. They were right to signal the danger, but their analysis is faulty and so is their solution, according to two OFIP members. Read more. (more…)

APRIL FOOLS – In wake of damning UN report, Trudeau to lead Canadian fact-finding mission to Gaza – Netanyahu furious

BFF in happier times: Trudeau (with Likud blue tie) and Netanyahu (with Liberal red one). But after reading the recent UN report on Israeli crimes in Gaza, Trudeau has decided to go to see for himself. Netanyahu’s foreign minister Yisrael Katz called the report “hostile, mendacious and biased”. But as usual, Trudeau is standing tall, proving once again – ‘Canada is back’. more…

Church group calls on Minister Freeland to protect Palestinian children facing settler/IDF violence and collusion in Hebron

Two-Palestinian-children-have-been-killed-in-a-blaze-at-their-home

These two Palestinian children died in a housefire in Hebron, in the Occupied West Bank after Israeli military prevented a Palestinian fire truck from crossing a checkpoint. A Canadian church group has written to the Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister demanding that she act, and asking for a meeting. Read more…
