Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe has announced that the City of Ottawa will raise the Israeli flag on May 14th to celebrate the creation of the State of Israel. It has done so since 2007. Former Prime Minister Harper visited Israel in February. Before going, he wrote a long opinion piece in the National Post attempting to provide justification for Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza.
