Group of 78 hosts discussion on competing visions for peace in Israel/Palestine

Peter Larson, Chair of the Ottawa Forum on Israel/Palestine, and Reuven Shultz, member of Canadian Friends of Peace Now, were invited by the Ottawa-based Group of 78, to share visions for peace in the middle east. The discussion revealed many points of agreement, but also some fundamental differences. Watch the video of the event.

President-elect Donald Trump said that because Greenland and Panama are vital for US security, he would not rule out using military force to take them over. President Jimmy Carter, Nobel Prize winner and author of “Palestine: Peace, not Apartheid” dies at 100

Former US President Jimmy Carter braved a storm of controversy when he came out in 2006 with his book “Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid”. While other major figures including Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu had made the same allegation, Carter was the first major western figure to adopt that terminology. Israeli bombs kill twin Waterloo U Ph.D students as attacks on civilians in Gaza continue to mount

The University of Waterloo says twin sisters, Dalia Ghazi Ibaid and Sally Ghazi Ibaid, who were set to start their PhD studies at the school, were killed in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza on Dec. 5. The UN says that the ongoing genocidal Israeli attack on Gaza is unprecedented and has been intensifying. Many are killed every day. Read more.
