Open letter to Prime Minister Carney: put Gaza on the G7 Agenda in Kananaskis

Canada hosted the G7 summit (then G8) in Kananaskis in 2002. This year Prime Minister Carney will be the host again on June 15-17. The host leader sets the agenda. The Ottawa Forum on Israel/Palestine (OFIP) suggests that Prime Minister Carney should put Gaza on the table. Read the OFIP open letter to the Prime Minister.

Israeli bombs kill twin Waterloo U Ph.D students as attacks on civilians in Gaza continue to mount

The University of Waterloo says twin sisters, Dalia Ghazi Ibaid and Sally Ghazi Ibaid, who were set to start their PhD studies at the school, were killed in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza on Dec. 5. The UN says that the ongoing genocidal Israeli attack on Gaza is unprecedented and has been intensifying. Many are killed every day. Read more.

Does the assassination of Yahyeh Sinwar mean the end of Palestinian resistance?

Western leaders from Biden to Trudeau have expressed the hope that the assassination of Yahyeh Sinwar will mean the end of the Palestinian resistance. The historical record doesn’t back that up. Israel’s strategy of “decapitation” of Palestinian resistance movements dates back to its foundation in 1948. While Israel continues to confiscate more and more Palestinian lands and prevent Palestinians from returning, the resistance continues unabated. Read more.

Israeli daily Ha’aretz confirms that many of the Israeli victims on October 7th were killed by Israel’s own military

A shocking story in the Israeli daily Ha’aretz, based on interviews with Israeli soldiers and military officials, has undermined the widespread Israeli narrative which portrayed Hamas fighters as crazed antisemites who murdered 1200 innocent Israeli civilians. Read more.
