Gaza starts rebuilding… Canada should help

Soon after the ceasefire was announced, Palestinians streamed north to find their destroyed houses and begin to clean up. Palestinians are already eagerly reopening wells blocked by Israeli troops, bulldozing rubble left by Israeli bombs and even repainting walls!!. By hand and using remaining and donated machinery, they have started to make Gaza liveable again. Some countries have started to help. Canada could do so as well…

Canada votes at UN against Palestinian right to preserve and develop its own natural resources

There are ten Israeli quarries in the West Bank, providing over 12 million tons of stone, gravel, and dolomite for Israeli construction projects each year. A UN resolution has overwhelmingly declared that Israel does not have the right to exploit Palestinian resources on occupied territory. Canada was one of a handful of countries to oppose the motion. Open letter to Supreme Court Registrar Chantal Carbonneau: Are Canadians who support human rights for Palestinians welcome at Canada’s Supreme Court? or not?

According to an article in the Toronto Star, four Black activists were invited to the Supreme Court to talk about racism with some of the courts law clerks during Black History month. Then the activists were abruptly “disinvited” – apparently because they have posted articles in support of human rights for Palestinians. Read more.
