There was already some evidence that the Israeli killings of unarmed protesters was starting to influence how mainstream publications are reporting the events. Many Nakba commemoration activities planned for Ottawa

A Palestinian grandmother holds the key to her house that she has never been allowed to return to. Several groups are planning activities in Ottawa to commemorate  the 70th anniversary of the “Nakba” – and educate the Canadian public about the expulsion of over 3/4 million Palestinians from their homes in 1947/48. The reports about what is happening at the Palestinian “Right of Return” march in Gaza could not be more contradictory. UN rapporteur Michael Lynk (left) says Israeli soldiers are firing on peaceful demonstrators. Mike Fegelman, (right) CEO of “Honest Reporting Canada” says it is Hamas who is committing war crimes by using a riot to hide armed terrorists. Who to believe? Toronto group offers new “toolkit” for groups who want to remember the “Nakba” on its 70th anniversary

A new internet-based “action kit” (called Nakba70action) filled with resources about the history of Israel/Palestine has been put on line by Robert Massoud, a Palestinian Canadian living in Toronto. He hopes it will be useful to groups or individuals who would like to find a way to mark the 70th anniversary of the “Nakba” (or disaster) that befell Palestinians in 1947/48. Read more… (more…)
