Saturday October 5th: Human Rights groups demand Canadian action in the face of 12 months of Israeli bombing and ethnic cleansing in Gaza

There is a big difference between “feeling uncomfortable” and “being unsafe” – Elghawaby reminds university presidents

Amina Elghabawi, Canada’s Special Representative for Combatting Islamophobia, has written a letter to all Canadian University presidents reminding them of their duty to protect free speech. “The right to a “safe space” does not mean that others are not allowed to express views or opinions on issues that someone may disagree with“, she wrote. Widespread support for torture of Palestinians in detention – are Israel’s real values really the same as ours?
