Former US President Jimmy Carter braved a storm of controversy when he came out in 2006 with his book “Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid”. While other major figures including Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu had made the same allegation, Carter was the first major western figure to adopt that terminology. The University of Waterloo says twin sisters, Dalia Ghazi Ibaid and Sally Ghazi Ibaid, who were set to start their PhD studies at the school, were killed in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza on Dec. 5. The UN says that the ongoing genocidal Israeli attack on Gaza is unprecedented and has been intensifying. Many are killed every day. Read more.

Over a hundred Jews and allies briefly occupied the Confederation building in Ottawa in a peaceful sit-in on Parliament Hill on Tuesday, December 3rd calling for a full and immediate arms embargo against Israel.
