Saturday October 5th: Human Rights groups demand Canadian action in the face of 12 months of Israeli bombing and ethnic cleansing in Gaza

A broad coalition of Canadian human rights groups is inviting Canadians to join a demonstration on Parliament Hill at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 5th as part of an International Day of Action against the Israeli assault on Gaza. Read more….

October 5th marks one year of alleged genocide by Israel against the Palestinian people. In the span of one year, the Gaza Health Ministry has released the names of over 40,000 lost civilian lives mostly women and children, with some projections estimating as many as 180,000 direct and indirect deaths.

On the International Day of Action Against the Israeli Assault on Gaza, a broad coalition is organizing a demonstration and march in Ottawa on Saturday, October 5th. This will be the second such action following another one organized by Amnesty International last May.

Its main demands are:

  • an immediate and permanent ceasefire,
  • an end to Canadian complicity,
  • a two way arms embargo, and
  • an end of the illegal blockade on Gaza.
