Trudeau extends “Russia type” sanctions to Israel and Saudi Arabia over human rights violations

Ukrainian, Youthi and Palestinian victims of aggression. A war crime is a war crime is a war crime” declared Prime Minister Justin Trudeau today. “There is no reason in the world why Israel or Saudi Arabia should be allowed to commit war crimes against civilians any more than Russia.” Read more…

WARNING: Most readers were alert to this April Fools post but a few were caught. I wish it were all true, but alas, it most certainly is NOT.

April 1, 2020.

In a surprising turnaround, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced today a series of sweeping measures to reign in Israeli and Saudi war crimes and atrocities against unarmed innocent civilians.

“Over the last few weeks”, he said, “the images of innocent Ukrainian civilians fleeing for their lives before Russian bombardment, has brought back memories of similar images of innocent Palestinian civilians and Youthis trying to escape bombs falling from the sky. As of today, April 1st, Canada will extend the sanctions already applied against Russian oligarchs to Israeli politicians and Saudi dictators.

“Just watch me”

Trudeau also indicated his determination to go further if necessary. “If these measures are not effective, Canada should start lobbying NATO to impose a no-fly zone over Ukraine, Gaza and Yemen. Just watch me”, said a grim faced Prime Minister.

International observers were surprised by Trudeau’s new statement of Canadian policy. “This is the first time in living memory that Canada has tried to be consistent in application of its foreign policy,” noted a senior UN official. “It’s very surprising”.

  4. This only can happen if Justin falls to the ground, hits his head and his brain start functioning properly.

  5. So I see you are keeping up your great tradition of ringing in the first day of April.  Well done (but sad too.)

  6. Is this an April Fool’s Day joke? Probably joke is not the right word. Margaret Navarro
