Dr. Tarek Loubani is a Palestinian Canadian. He was born in Kuwait of Palestinian refugee parents. He frequently goes to Gaza where he works as an emergency room doctor at al Shifa hospital in Gaza City. On June 29th, the Ottawa Forum on Israel Palestine organized a zoom based expert panel of Canadians to discuss his work with Dr. Loubani. Watch the video interview….

OFIP chair Peter Larson, moderates a panel discussion with Dr. Loubani, bottom right. The other panelists were Canadian doctors Robert Cushman and Lynne Mcgregor, (top right) and Toronto-based lawyer Jessica Burnstein. During the 60 minute session, the panelists quizzed Dr. Loubani on everything from his motivation for doing his dangerous work, to the similarities and differences in working as an emergency doctor in Canada versus Gaza.
