Palestinian Canadians appeal to the public to join demonstration for ceasefire, Saturday, 25 Nov. 1 p.m. Parliament Hill

Israeli bombing has destroyed over half of all residences in Gaza and killed over 12,000 people. It continues. Palestinian Canadians want Canada to call for a ceasefire. Read more….

Various Palestinian and human rights organizations are appealing to Canadians to join what they hope will be tens of thousands of people from across Canadian cities on Parliament Hill in Ottawa to demand an end to Canadian complicity in the ongoing genocide in Gaza and colonization of Palestine. Israel has killed over 12,000 Palestinians; and not only does the Canadian government refuse to call for a ceasefire, they continue to sell weapons that enable Israel’s massacres.

From their call….

“Join us in Ottawa on Parliament Hill November 25th at 1pm to demand:”

  • An immediate ceasefire
  • An end to all Canadian complicity with Israel
  • Lifting the siege on Gaza

“We call on Palestinians, Arabs, and people of conscience from all across Canada to make plans to travel to Ottawa on this day for what is sure to be a historic march: together, a people’s chorus becomes impossible for the Canadian government to ignore.”

  1. Palestinian Canadians know what kind or regime Hamas has imposed on the people of Gaza. They would be much wiser to demand an unconditional surrender by Hamas and the release of all hostages. That would bring an immediate end to the violence in Gaza and liberate the people of Gaza from the totalitarian antisemitic terrorist regime that has oppressed them for over 16 years.

    1. Hey David,
I am sure Palestinian Canadians will appreciate your thoughtful suggestions. I have watched/listened to many interviews of Palestinians coming out of Gaza. Perhaps you have too. Have you been struck by the fact that none of them blames the current situation on Hamas. They all point to Israel.

    2. Since the Jews have all the power, the best way to convince the Palestinians that they would be better off without Hamas or the PA is to give Palestinians rights equal to the Jews everywhere that Jews control them. For example, in the West Bank, remove the check points, let the Palestinians use the Jewish highways, give them water and electricity, stop killing them and stealing their land. In Gaza, remove the border controls so that they can get cancer treatments etc. That would be good start. Hamas would be horrified and lose all popular support.

    3. It is not Hamas that prevents Palestinians from leaving Gaza. It is not Hamas that is bombing without concern about the civilians who are killed. Israel claims to be more moral than Hamas but its actions show the opposite. Palestinians chose Hamas in 2006. Things went wrong when Israel and its enablers refused to honour a democratic choice. Let Palestinians choose their leaders and we will be able to tell who believes in democracy and who does not.

  2. Peter Larson is the most anti semitic person I have ever known. At a time when antisemitism has reached a level I have never seen in my lifetime, he is a disgraceful person who attacks the Jews of Israel as an attempt to hide his disgust with Jews. Israel has half the world’s Jewish population, a level that is 2,000,000 less than in 1939 thanks to Mr. Hitler and people like Larson. What a vile person he is. It is time to expose this Jew hater.

      1. A very tiny group of people who claim to be Jewish are or often not. These people are anti semitic mainly because they are ashamed of being Jewish. They represent no more than .0001% of the Jewish people. As far as I can see Mr. Larson has three supporters. The same three who comment on all his posts.obviously they don’t have minds of their own.

      2. Hello Shelly, If you think I only have 3 supporters, then why in the world would you waste time debating with me? Actually, I wish you would debate in stead of just making ad hominem criticisms.

I repeat the offer I have made several times in the past. If you would like to join me in a public webinar so we could discuss any issue relating to Israel, in front of a larger audience, I would be please do to so.

I promise I won’t attack or ridicule you. I will stick to a calm and fact based discussion of the Israel/Palestine issue. I don’t hate you or any other Canadian Jew I know. I am sure in a fact based discussion we would each learn something.

      3. SE.

As I said, you don’t know me. That doesn’t stop you from denying my Jewishness (which is easily confirmed) or from accusing me of being ashamed of being Jewish (which would be silly).

Do you have a source for your statistical assertion?

The moral principles taught in the religious education classes (aka Hebrew School) in my childhood Synagogue guide me in all that I do. They did not teach me to hate people from other groups. Au contraire – they taught me to respect them. What did your childhood teachers teach you?

  3. Larson will moderate my comments because he is a Jew and Israel hater. He will never see Israel again

    1. I remain open to reasonable discussion and argument.
I am in favour of equality and human rights everywhere – for Jews just as much as Palestinians. A Jewish life is just as important as a Palestinian life. But a Palestinian life is just as important as a jewish life.
Is that what you mean by “Jew hater”?
