Israel’s defence minister has justified the ongoing genocidal bombing in Gaza claiming that the Palestinians are “human animals”.
In the face of considerable pressure in Canada from letters and demonstrations demanding an immediate ceasefire, Prime Minister Trudeau finally raised a plaintif voice of concern last week calling on Israel to “exercise maximum restraint” in Gaza.
“We’re hearing the testimonies of doctors, family members, survivors, kids who’ve lost their parents. The world is witnessing this — the killing of women and children, of babies,” said Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on November 14th.
But that didn’t last long. After a a public scolding from Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and a phone call from Israeli War Cabinet Member Benny Ganz, Trudeau quickly fell back into line.
Gantz released a summary of his own, saying Trudeau “conveyed to me his long-standing support for the state of Israel and Israel’s right to self-defence.”
Mr. Trudeau, it’s time to choose. There are now over 11,5000 dead Palestinian men, women and children. How many more will it take before you stand up to Israel? What uniform are the “human animals wearing today?

Canada Talks Israel/Palestine 
Sadly, war turns otherwise ‘normal’ people into killers and even sadists. Recall the My Lay massacre- perpetrated by otherwise everyday young “men” from small town US. Everyone becomes ‘human animals’, led by leaders filling their heads with hate. It’s the civilians who suffer, as always. For all the talk of “winning”, no one does except the weapons industries, who continue to make huge profits.
It’s all sooo horrible!
It seems to me to be a waste of time to try to get Mr. Trudeau to call for a ceasefire. In the unlikely event that he did it (and did not weaken his statement under pressure) the Netanyahu government would not listen. Instead we should demand that his government designate the Israeli Government and the IDF as terrorist organizations. This would have a real effect whether or not Israel listens.
We should remember that many said that the 900 civilian deaths that resulted from the Hamas attack proved that they were terrorists. Israel has now caused an order of magnitude more deaths and much more damage – all for political purposes (changing the government of Gaza).
And it looks like the Israeli excuse of a huge Hamas control centre under Al Shifa Hospital is right up there with the US excuse of ‘weapons of mass destruction’ in Iraq.
It does look that way, but I am holding my fire on that one for a bit more. Hamas must have a control centre somewhere.
