Is Dimitri Lascaris really anti-Semitic?

Any Canadian who tries to defend human rights for Palestinians knows that they run the risk of being called “anti-Semitic”.  But when Prime Minister Trudeau (l) called out Dimitri Lascaris (r) a well known Palestinian human rights activist, accusing him of “vile anti-Semitic smears”  a lot of people took notice. “Trudeau is more “pro-Israel” than Harper”: Liberal MP Anthony Housefather

Anthony Housefather, a Liberal MP, is the Chairman of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights, and is also chair of the pro-Israel caucus in Parliament called “The Canada Israel Parliamentary Group”. Canada has sanctions on 19 countries, notes organizer of symposium on international law, but not on Israel

Members of the United Nations Security Council vote on an Egyptian-drafted resolution regarding recent decisions concerning the status of Jerusalem, during a meeting on the situation in the Middle East, including Palestine, at U.N. Headquarters in New York

Canada would like to join the UN Security Council, one of the most prestigious and exclusive clubs in the world. To show that it is “back in the game”, Canada has followed UN recommendations to put sanctions on 19 countries. But one particular country seem to continuously avoid our notice, even though it is in breach of many UN resolutions. Read more…

Canadian Parliamentarians release report on Israel/Palestine trip

Canada-MP-delegation-group-photo-slider1.pngA delegation of 18 Canadian parliamentarians, led by MP Marwan Tabbara (Lib. Kitchener South – Hespeler), spent 6 intensive days visiting Israel/Palestine in April 2018. The official report of their trip has just been released and makes for interesting reading. It seems they were quite disturbed by what they saw/heard. Read more.
